CHANDIGARH: As many as 15 persons were killed as gunmen fired indiscriminately from automatic weapons at liquor vend near village Dachhar in Karnal district of the north Indian state of Haryana on May 7.
According to police, four gunmen on motorcycles came to the vend at around 2030 hours, opened fire indiscriminately and later escaped.
In Punjab, four militants were among 15 people killed while militants blew up a section of the railway track on the Jalandhar Amritsar section and torched four passenger buses and a jeep in separate incidents.
In Amritsar two militants were killed in an ongoing encounter with security forces in village Jhando Ki Sarhali in Tam Taran.
