SHIMLA, Fifteen persons were killed (20 according to UNI) and 10 injured when a bus of the Hamirpur Cooperative Transport Society fell into a 200meterdeep gorge near Jollandri, 30 Km from Hamirpur, on August 11. Six of the injured persons have been admitted to a hospital at Hamirpur. The bus was on its way to Hamirpur from Chauri.

Deputy Commissioner B.S. Chauhan and the Superintendent of Police along with a medical team reached the site of the accident and started rescue operations.

According to the Deputy Commissioner, the bus fell into the gorge due to the failure of brakes.

A grant of Rs 10,000 each for next of kin of the deceased and Rs 1,500 each for the injured has been announced.

A magisterial enquiry has been ordered into the accident.
