GOINDWAL: The Bhindranwale Tiger Force opened fire on two police jeeps killing nine jawans and injuring four. On the night of 24th May on a bridge of village Khadoor near Makhu. The police party was patrolling the area and ‘was crossing the bridge when the freedom fighters opened the fire.

In another encounter in the Mand area between villages Marraran and Kirian near Chittiburji freedom fighters killed five jawans of CR.P.P.

The freedom fighters also chased an army official involved in the Operation bluestar (attack of Golden Temple Amritsar in 1984) near Nasik in Maharashtra on the night of 25th May.

During the chase two policemen on the barrier were crushed under the truck. Driver was arrested but cleaner and the freedom fighters escaped.

Police had earlier received the information that a group of freedom fighters had entered to kill the military officer who participated in Operation Blue Star.
