CHANDIGARH: Thirteen militants were among 14 persons killed Rs 4.5 lakh was looted from a private dairy and Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) jeep was blown up in Punjab during the past 24 hours.

Security forces gunned down three unidentified militants in an encounter near Pakhoke village. An AK-47 rifle a 303 rifle a .12 bore gun and a stick bomb along with ammunition were recovered from the site of the encounter.

Two militants identified as Maliat Singh and Rajpal Singh alias Raja were killed in crossfire when a police party escorting them for recovery of arms was ambushed near Jiwansinghwala village in Bathinda district.

In another case one person was shot dead near Kaleke village in Ludhiana district.

A bomb exploded under a CRPF jeep minutes after security personnel had alighted from it near Sheranwala Gate in Amritsar city.
