ISLAMABAD (PTI): At least 12 people were Dec.8 reported killed and scores injured in various parts of Pakistan while the residence of the Indian consul general in Karachi was “completely ransacked” by an angry mob protesting at the demolition of the Babri mosque at Ayodhya in India on Dec.6.

In Loralai district in Baluchistan six persons died when their house was set on fire while one person was killed when police fired on protestors trying to attack religious places in Chaman. Reports reaching from Peshawar said two persons were killed when someone fired shots while a procession tried to attack a cinema house In Sialkot two persons were killed when they came under the debris of a religious place.

Police also resorted to tear gassing and baton charge to quell angry mobs in Lahore Peshawar Quetta Islamabad Rawalpindi Karachi Hyderabad and Sukkur Processions were taken out throughout Pakistan.
