CHANDIGARH: Twelve people were killed and 20 others injured, some of them seriously, in a powerful bomb blast in a Delhi transport corporation bus at the Panipat bus stand in Haryana Thursday evening.

The Delhi bound bus was waiting for passengers at Panipat when the bomb exploded killing 10 people on the spot. Two persons succumbed to injuries on way to hospital.

Official sources said here that the bomb exploded at about 1715 hours (IST) at which time a large number of daily Passengers bound for Delhi and Karnal (Haryana) reach the bus stand.

All the killed and injured were in the Delhi bound bus. People standing at the bus stand had a miraculous escape from the splinters of the bomb, the sources said.
