NEW DELHI: Government has dismissed 106 employees including 33 policemen for being involved with militants in the northern Indian state of Jammu and Kashmir.

The federal home minister Mufti Mohammed Sayeed gave this information in the Rajya Sabha Wednesday.

The dismissed government employees he said had received training from across the border. He said action had been taken against those employees where direct evidence was available.

He said those dismissed included four gazette officers.

Answering supplementary, the home minister ruled out transfer of local Indian administrative service Indian police service officers from the state observing that since they were very few in number, such an act would be detrimental.

He said it had been decided to restore the ratio of locals and outsiders to 50:50 as locals were not adequately represented in the TAS/IPS services.
